About Evan

Evan (he/him/his) is a warm and down to earth therapist who speaks from the heart. His style is sincere, highly relational, and collaborative. Evan’s practice is rooted in the principles of non-judgement, self-determination, and harm reduction. He views therapy as an opportunity to expand our self-awareness, explore our narratives, and to hold compassion for ourselves and others.

Evan specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ people, largely transgender, gender non-conforming, queer, and questioning folks - as well as their partners and families. His areas of interest include supporting clients through identity exploration, fostering self-love and acceptance, and managing grief and loss related to identity. He enjoys working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance misuse, and trauma. Evan offers support to clients at all stages of identity discovery and gender exploration.

Evan’s therapeutic style is eclectic in nature, incorporating evidence-based methods, including: person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and strengths-based approaches; in addition to a combination of holistic practices such as mindfulness and body-based techniques.

Queer people face a variety of unique challenges, and thus, we also have unique opportunities for joy, self-discovery, deep compassion and radical self-love. More than anything, Evan enjoys empowering queer folks to tap into the remarkable power of their inherent worth. As Evan’s client, you can expect to always have someone on the sidelines cheering you on.

Evan is a Licensed Social Worker through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board practicing under the direct supervision of Jennifer Haywood, LISW-S. He earned his Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University with a clinical focus in Mental Health and Substance Misuse.
